2010-06-20 100th Anniversary of Feliks Nowowiejski ROTA celebration in Poznań
On 19 June 2010 we participated in the celebration of the anniversary of the beautiful and patriotic song – ROTA. The event took place in Poznań on the Plac Wolności (Freedom Square) and was organized by the Feliks Nowowiejski Association.
During this special and historical celebration honorary guests such as Joanna Modrzejewska the great-granddaughter of Maria Konopnicka and Jan Nowowiejski – son of Feliks Nowowiejski looked back with the citizens of the region. The celebration started with the Feliks Nowowiejski bugle-call “Ratusz Poznański” (Poznań town hall) performed by Andrzej Kulka at 12 o’clock. During the afternoon, 20 choirs from Poznań and Wielkopolska rendered patriotic songs “Praojcom na chwałę”(Forefathers for glory). What is more, children could take part in the art classes “ Wiek roty w obrazie”(Rota age in the picture) as well as look for the gold horn “Złoty róg Hetmana”(Gold Hetman’s horn). Of course it could not miss the performance of the Młodzieżowa Orkiestra Dęta Vivat! from Sieraków.
At 7.10 p.m. (an hour symbolizing the first year of performing Rota in Kraków) these 20 choirs and the gathered citizens performed Rota on the Plac Wolności (Freedom Square) in Poznań with the accompaniment of the Młodzieżowa Orkiestra Dęta Vivat!
We are proud that we had an opportunity to participate in such amazing and patriotic celebration.

On Sunday, 22.04.2012r. Youth Brass Band of Vivat! along with the Group Choreography will take a part in the ceremonies connected with the celebration of XXVII Dni Ułana- Święto 15th Płuku Ułanów Poznańskich (Days of Uhlan-XXVII 15th St. Poznanskich Cavalry Regiment). This ceremony will be held at the Poznan Citadel.
